Jackie Griswold
Mixed media

Jackie Griswold is a mixed media collage artist who uses up-cycled and recycled materials including paint, paper that she has hand decorated, found objects, ribbon and lace, alcohol inks,
stencils and stamps, glitter glue, vintage books and music sheets, and bits and bobs of ephemera that most people might not consider as art materials.
Because my work is abstract, the designs evolve as part of the process of “gluing paper to canvas” I like to combine colors that might not seem to go together and add a variety of elements to create interest. Recently, I have been creating assemblages using found objects like rusty nails from an old home, clock springs, computer parts, old keys and hardware.
Primarily self-taught, I have taken a few formal art classes at Holyoke Community College in Massachusetts and have taken several different workshops and online classes. I meet monthly with an artist collective where we share techniques and ideas and critique each other’s work.
Before moving to New Hampshire in 2020, I belonged to several artist associations in Massachusetts. All those groups provided opportunities for learning from other artists.
Currently, I am a member of the Monadnock Area Artists Association (MAAA) and am represented in their gallery in Keene, NH. I am a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and a member of the Blue Fern Artists Collective Gallery in Peterborough, NH.
