About

What is a non-profit artist collective?  Why did we form one?

An artist collective non-profit organization is a group of artists working together under a shared name, often with a formalized structure and mission, to achieve shared goals such as exhibiting work, providing community spaces, or advancing particular artistic ideals.

While there is a bounty of artistic talent in this region, there are currently just a few places locally for the public to discover and purchase fine art and handcrafted goods by local artists.

Blue Fern Gallery provides a new retail space in downtown Peterborough for residents and visitors to get to know and purchase work of local artists in several mediums and price ranges, and a welcoming space to gather for art-related meetings and events.

Blue Fern Artists Collective will also provide opportunities for members to enjoy community-building with each other and other local artists—learning from each other, supporting and growing together, and leveraging the advantages of sharing the costs of a retail/event space.
