Deb Caplan
Drawings, clay sculpture

Deb lives and works in Peterborough, NH. Prior to settling in Peterborough, Deb lived in Florida and where she was a Juried Member of the Boca Raton Museum of Art, Artist’s Guild.
After moving to Peterborough in 2011, Deb fell in love with the town, its people and its rich past and historic buildings. She began making prints of pen and ink sketches of Peterborough buildings, hand-coloring some, and matting or framing them. Locals and visitors are drawn to these LineScapes of familiar Peterborough sights and events; like The Peterborough Town Library (first tax-supported library
in the U.S.), the MacDowell Colony, the Peterborough Diner, the Stone Barn or the Children and the Arts Festival.
Deb also offers clay sculptures glazed to look like small bronzes; made-to-order, custom home portraits (black & white or hand-colored) and series of limited edition prints of her black & white abstract drawings.
Deb holds a double major in Art History and Studio Art from Brandeis University in Massachusetts. Her idea for LineScapes sprang from early research into Louis Prang, the father of lithography and a promoter of affordable art for all, through lithographic prints.
