High-Fire Stoneware and Porcelain Pottery

​Nature is Sue Valentine's inspiration and what is a more perfect design element than what is found naturally in the woods, lakes, mountains, or seas?  She feels fortunate that my studio is in a small lakeside cottage surrounded by woods and mountains.  She doesn't have to go far for inspiration!

 

Valentine Clay Works are unique one-of-a kind pieces, both functional and artistic. The lead free glazes are cheery and bright with transparent formulas that let the designs show through.  Some pieces have layers of glaze applied by brush, sponge or sprayed to add additional depth. The pieces are stoneware clay fired to over 2,300 degrees making them dishwasher and microwave safe.  

 

Valentine's hope is that she has achieved that balance of beauty, form and function and that her pots are enjoyed by many.  Whether sipping your morning coffee  in a handmade mug or serving   a big salad in a wheel thrown bowl, pots have a story to tell and beg to be part of your story!
