Bettie Zakon-Anderson is a hand weaver from Hancock and a member of the League of NH Craftsmen, the Monadnock Art Open Studio Tour and Blue Fern Gallery. She weaves scarves and shawls on a variety of floor looms using fine silk and merino wool, alpaca, and wool from

Harrisville Designs where she is a Weaving Specialist and teacher.

 

Bettie also weaves home goods such as wool pillows and throws, and table runners and hand towels using cottolin and cotton.

"I began my weaving journey over 40 years ago by taking two years of classes at the Rhode Island School of Design. After this in-depth introduction, I continued with both self-teaching and

workshops with inspiring teachers. I began selling my work in 1994 through the League and at other fine galleries in New England. My fascination with weave structures has continued over the last 4 decades as there is always something new to try on the fiber horizon."
